Today in 1930 the Perfect Man was Born

That perfect specimen left this world 6 months and 1 day before his 77th Birthday.
That perfect man was my father.

For the first time publicly we publish the recipe.

Take a big ol' Cast Iron Pot-
Rub the pot with plenty of Engine Oil & Elbow Grease

Add equal parts of:

James Dean
Hank Williams
Johnny Cash
to that add a splash of Skinny Elvis
Stir with the love of music until perfectly blended.

In a separate bowl combine ICE COLD MILK (Whole if you've got it)
Homemade Scratchy Cornbread
Yummy Scrambled Eggs with Cheese and who knows what else!
Biscuits and Gravy
LOVE
A lot of experimental cooking
A few hot dogs from Costco
LOVE
Okra
A Big bowl of Turnip Greens
More Corn Bread For Soppin' up Green Juice
LOVE
Handful of Grits
a bunch of Bacon & Pancakes
LOVE
Mix it all together cuz "It's all goin to the same place anyway.

This Perfect Dish CANNOT Be Complete Without:
The Unconditional Love of a Good Woman (My Mom)
1 Good Cat (1 at a time anyway)
Several Dawgs - Hound or otherwise (Past and Present)

You are so lucky to have known the love of a great man right from day one. I have never met my father. BUT in my partner, I have a good father for MY children. I feel lucky in that regard. Happy Birthday to him, wherever he is.
