Trashy

I was walking back from the mailbox tonight. The walkways had been shoveled and the hoarfrost was gone, some of the snow is melting off the rooftops and the ground is covered in a good 4 inches of snow. I noticed an older but not old, woman coming out her front door with with 3 bags of trash and some sort of dead appliance balanced in her other arm.

Here's our conversation:

Me: Hi! Good Evening!
Her: Hello :0)
Me: Is that trash? would you like some help out with that?
Her: No, that's o.k.
Me: Are you sure? It looks heavy, let me at least help you carry it out.
Her: No,that's o.k.
Me: BTW where are the trash containers for this building? I live over on the other side.
Her: Waaaaaaaaaay over there.
Me: Are you sure I can't help you? It's really no problem.
Her: No, that's o.k.
Me: Well, be careful that road is really slippery.
Her: (as she's walking away)I wish there was an easier way to take out the trash.
Me: heavy sigh (thinking to myself)LET YOUR FRICKEN NEIGHBORS HELP YOU!!!

Trash is very personal thing. (Apparently) And yes, I'm still grumpy. Does it show?
