Saturday was a great day at the Farmers Market. As always I found myself chatting up some stranger standing beside me. This one had been a white glove waiter all of his life and has a great appreciation for good food. He ended up taking me from booth to booth and hand feeding me the samples from each farm/restaurant. He carried my bags and opened doors for me and proclaimed his right to be a gentleman by walking on the side of the traffic when we later went across the street for coffee. It was a great relaxing afternoon. One of the more adorable things about this character is that he looks like Sydney Walker in "Prelude to a Kiss
He's actually only 61 but has had a pretty eventful life that has added a good 10 years on him. He lost his 49 yr old wife 6 years ago to a heart attack (she was jogging at the time) That in itself gave him an excuse to meet his "new best friend" Jack D and check out of life for 2 years. He came to Cheyenne to get away from the constant memories of a love lost too young.
It was a great day chatting with him and all the others I ran across at the market yesterday.
